Album Review: Louise Aubrie - Late 44

London-born, New York-based indie pop singer/songwriter Louise Aubrie recently released her third album effort, Late 44, that was recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London, England.

The album was produced by James Knight (the Kooks, Leona Lewis and Ellie Goulding) and features vocals from Tom Edwards (Adam Ant), Joe Holweger, David Ruffy (the Ruts, Adam Ant, Dexy’s Midnight Runners) and Boz Boorer (Morrissey, the Polecats).

Throughout Late 44, Louise creates a well-crafted sound that delves between elements of punk and pop with subtle rock influences. Standout tracks include "Perfect Battle Cry" - which displays her vocal range and delivery - and "Next To Nothing," a super catchy song with an endearing message. The sincere "Candlelight" has a sweet 1960s sound with a modern twist while "Tearjerker" is a dance-infused melodic ride.

Showing substantial growth in her music this go round, Louise Aubrie did an excellent job at making a fun, upbeat album with a solid punk edge. Just don’t take my word for it, give Late 44 a listen by clicking here.
